Ginger Burr, founder of Total Image Consultants in Lynn, Mass., has a guiding rule for pearls and beads: Women with small features should wear small-scale beads - maybe multiple strands - while women with larger features can wear the larger beads.
What's that smell?
Q. I have heard perfume should be stored in a cool place. How cool? Is room temperature OK? Or should it be in the refrigerator?
A. Perfume is best stored in a cool, dry, dark place, inside its original packaging. A bathroom or bedroom drawer or cupboard, away from light and humidity, is ideal. Room temperature is fine, but make sure the room is air-conditioned during hot months.

I'll be discussing the roundtable - and Michigan Business Review's Innovation, a Sept. 17 event that will feature a keynote speech by New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman - next week.
But, for now, I couldn't help but share my favorite part of the roundtable, which included a valuable discussion about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation efforts. It came from Dennis Marvin, new generation communications director for Jackson's Consumers Energy.

I think we all know someone who did exactly this.
'When we started offering rebates for people to buy energy efficient appliances - for example, a refrigerator - they would take the inefficient refrigerator and move it to their garage, put in the brand new refrigerator and actually end up using more energy,' Marvin said.
Amusing, if inefficient.
